What is Whim?

Whim is a modern shopping platform for New York City, powered by an AI concierge. Describe what you want, to buy or to gift, and Whim sources it from local stores across Manhattan and delivers it to your door the same day. Delivery is always free.

Where does Whim deliver?

Whim delivers across all of Manhattan, from the Financial District, Battery Park City and Tribeca up through Chelsea, Flatiron, the Meatpacking District, Hell's Kitchen and Midtown, across the Upper East Side and Upper West Side, and up into Harlem, Washington Heights and Inwood. The full neighborhood list is below.

How fast is delivery, and what does it cost?

Delivery is same-day, and it is always free. A local courier picks your order up from the store and brings it to your door the same day.

What can I buy on Whim?

Products from local stores across Manhattan: flowers, candles, books, home goods, sweet treats and more. Shop for yourself or send a gift. Whim works for everyday shopping and for occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, housewarmings and thank-yous.

What is the Whim Concierge?

The Concierge is Whim's AI shopping assistant. Tell it what you are looking for, the occasion, the mood, or the budget, and it returns curated options sourced from local stores, all available same-day across Manhattan, plus a draft card message when you are sending a gift.

Can I send a gift with a card?

Yes. Gifting is one of the things Whim does best. You can send an order straight to someone else and include a card, and the Concierge will even draft the card message for you.

Is there a Whim app, and can I use it on the web?

Whim lives in the iOS app, where you shop, use the Concierge and track your delivery. The website is desktop-only for now; on your phone, use the app.

Is Whim live yet, and how do I get access?

Whim is rolling out in New York City. Join the waitlist at getwhim.app and we will text you the moment early access opens.

I run a local store. Can I sell on Whim?

Yes. Whim partners with independent stores across the city. Tell us about your shop through the “Become a Whim shop” form at getwhim.app. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee acceptance; we review every one.

How do I contact Whim or get help with an order?

Email support@getwhim.app and we will reply within one business day, whether it is about an order, a delivery, your account, or anything else.
